SUMMARY:

The SOX Manager is responsible for achieving and managing Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Compliance Requirements across our Company.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, implement, coordinate, and execute all phases of SOX compliance, (to include leading walkthroughs and identifying/validating key controls, developing test procedures, executing and documenting testing, and reporting results to the Senior Management Team
  • Creating and updating documentation including policies, process flowcharts, process narratives, risk and controls matrix
  • Evaluate and recommend/implement changes to controls as new systems are developed and/or process changes
  • Ensure clear, concise, actionable and practical observations and recommendations, with a well-documented process for communication and clearance
  • Manage PMO responsibilities including overseeing our outsourcing partners engagement economics, and resource requirements at each testing phase
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors on annual SOX testing plans and provide support to them to ensure timely and smooth completion of SOX projects
  • Other Duties as Assigned

 

 

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required
  • An appropriate certification in accounting and/or auditing, such as a CPA, CA, and/or CIA
  • Demonstrated experience, skills and knowledge with IIA Professional Practices and Standards
  • Experience in a senior internal audit role; Experience with similar internal audit roles in large organizations or with Big 4 audit firms highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, COSO, PCAOB Auditing Standards, Sarbanes-Oxley, risk and controls standards and business process best practices
  • Detail-oriented self-starter
  • Demonstrated ability to meet goals and objectives and manage personnel and multiple priorities
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, & Excel
  • Strong verbal, written, computer communication, presentation and organization skills
  • Ability to interact positively and effectively in a team environment
  • Some travel will be required for this position
  • Valid Drivers' License issued by state of residence and in good standing

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Required to be exposed to physical environment which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements
  • Ability to walk over uneven terrain
