Reports to: Controller

Location: Pittsburgh, PA

 

Summary:

Under direction of the controller, the Staff Accountant would be responsible for the daily recording and reconciliation, month-end closing and audit information requests related to cash and bank activity. The Staff Accountant will assist with, project; accounting, audit preparation and other duties as assigned. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for cash activities and responsibilities as assigned.

 

Job Responsibilities:
-Enter journal entries
-Cash receipt processing
-Bank reconciliations
-AR Aging monthly review
-Manage accounting for certain identified operating sites
-Reconcile Balance sheet accounts – electrical sites
-Prepare and process paperwork for USDA rebate program

-Account for American Express and P Card purchases

-Perform search for unrecorded liability review

-Assist internal control department with SOX testing

-Assist controller and accounting manager on external audits

-Assist Controller on 10Q’s and 10K Ad hoc accounting/finance requests as needed

-Other duties as required

 

Qualifications / Skills:

-MS Excel Attention to detail

-Thoroughness

-Organization

-Working knowledge of GAAP

-Bachelor’s Degree

- Accounting One to three years accounting experience

-Technical acumen and strong problem-solving skills

-Ability to process information with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail

-Strong organizational and time management skills in a fast-paced environment

-Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

-Experience working in publicly traded company a plus

-Solid knowledge of GAAP required

-Working knowledge of accounting software, Microsoft Dynamics SL a plus

-Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, & Excel Strong verbal and written communication skills

-Able to work in an office environment

-Minimal travel required
